The Bears were handed a 77-66 loss to Wofford College, their second this season to the Terriers, on Saturday. The loss puts Mercer (11-14, 4-8 Southern Conference) in the company of just two other SoCon teams who have sub-.500 records in conference matchups.

The Bears were held to 27 points in the first half and 39 points in the second. Wofford outscored Mercer in almost all statistical categories of the game except steals and free throw percentage. Tyler Johnson '25, Alex Holt ‘25 and Ahmad Robinson ‘25 were the scoring leaders for this game. Robinson was pulled from the Samford game, according to the team's Media Relations Director, Brian Magnus, "based on his play and the score of the game." Against Wofford, Robinson returned to the form he showed prior to the Bears' road trip to Alabama, but his team-leading 16 points were not enough.

Johnson scored 15 points with five rebounds, Holt scored 12 points with four rebounds and an assist Marcus Overstreet '27 recorded yet another double-double with 13 boards and 11 points.

The Bears' next game will be on the road in Greenville, S.C. to take on Furman University at 7:00 p.m. on Feb. 12. In the first matchup between the two teams, Mercer lost 79-74. Since beating the Bears, the Paladins have gone 2-2 while, in the same time, Mercer has gone 1-3. The Bears are looking to break their three-game losing streak and find some footing before the start of the SoCon tournament in March.
