This year's Lip Sync Battle was planned by the student-led organization QuadWorks and hosted in the Toney Auditorium on Friday, Nov. 1. Following Mercer tradition, the event was hosted by last year’s Homecoming queen, Ashton Mayo-Beavers '24.
In her time at Mercer, Mayo-Beavers was a member of the National Council of Negro Women, a mentor in the Minority Mentor and Opportunity Scholars Program and last year’s winner of the Thelma "T-Lady" Spirit of Mercer Award. She is also an alumna and former president of the Mercer's chapter of Zeta Phi Beta.
The event was judged by Assistant Director of Service and Civic Engagement Margaret Rooyakkers, Professor of Education Vicki Luther and Director of Housing and Residence Life Anthony Hand Jr.
This was Luther’s second year judging the competition.
“I think the energy every year is great, but I think we top ourselves every single year,” Luther said. “I think the student organizations just get better and better.”
