In the final weeks of the semester, the National Residence Hall Honorary (NRHH) is organizing a food donation drive for some of Macon's local food pantries, but with a bit of a twist.

The NRHH is an honor society of student leaders on campus working to strengthen the on-campus residence communities. Part of their mission is to provide social and educational events for students that serve the Macon community.

Co-President Emily Ogbodo '23 said that the NRHH is not directly handling students dining dollars. Instead, they are hoping that students will use their leftover dining dollars to buy pantry items to donate. The NRHH is collecting canned and non-perishable food between April 24 and May 4.

"The dining dollar food drive is meant for students that have excess dining dollars that they need to use up before the end of the semester to have the opportunity to purchase food items that will be donated to a local food pantry," Ogdobo said.

The organization is offering the chance to win Z Beans gift cards to those who participate. There are prizes for the top two contributors. Donations should be dropped off in the CSC where there will be a drop-off bin and the organization asks that a picture of the receipt be sent through their Instagram, @mu.nrhh. The receipt can also be left with the donations with the name and contact information of the donor.
