There’s a new kid on the block of Mercer Village: the William Alexander Salon.
The salon is open for business, although it is still being renovated.
The salon hosts an array of services from hair services to waxing to nail services. It also offers massages and makeup services.
It is essentially a salon and spa to meet just about every need. You can even purchase Aveda products there. And what makes it even better for Mercer students is its convenient location, in Mercer Village.
The salon boasts a well-experienced staff that will cater to your needs.
Katherine Drye, a student and Jittery Joe’s employee said, “Mercer students won’t have to go far. We don’t have anything like the salon at Mercer Village.”
The general opinion of the salon is very positive from not only students but the other businesses located in Mercer Village.
Anna Wooten, junior, said, “I think it’s great and convenient. I think one day soon I will go there to get a manicure and pedicure.”
The owner of Francar’s Buffalo Wings, Carl Fambro, is excited about the salon opening. “Personally and for my business, I think [the salon opening] is great,” he said.
“It will increase foot traffic in the area and will bring more customers. More people will come down to Mercer Village and see it for the first time. In the long term, more people will come and see the rest of [the Mercer Village Merchants].”
“The word will continue to spread,” Fambro said. “A lot of people don’t even know that Mercer Village is located right here off of Montpelier.”
“I’ve gotten my hair cut at William Alexander Salon at their downtown location so I’m excited that they’re moving closer to campus,” said Emily Farlow.
The William Alexander Salon is open on Tuesday and Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Thursday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Friday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
