Mercer’s Fine Art and Design seniors will present their recent work in Hardman Hall's Plunkett Gallery starting Sept. 17 with a reception from 5 to 7 p.m. The show, entitled “Summer Salon,” will feature the students’ recent work from outside of class.

“The work represented within it is as diverse as the students themselves — the pieces vary in media, styles and themes, but are held together by a collective drive to create,” a release from the artists states.

The show acts as a precursor to the senior graduation exhibition, which will be held this spring in the McEachern Art Center on Second Street.

“Each senior in the art department has worked throughout their undergraduate years to develop their own position within the art world as well as a personal style to be showcased on Bear Day 2022,” the release says.

Among the featured artists are graphic designer Ali Dupree, painters Amanda Herrold and Avery Lario and illustrator Faith Reagin.

“The design and fine art students worked together to present a casual show of our most recent works,” Reagin said. “Since it’s a group show, it will have a range of themes and styles, which means there’s something for everyone!”

The show will run until mid-October, according to the students in the show.
