Mercer University Professor Amy Nichols-Belo partnered with students to host a solidarity rally this evening in Tattnall Square Park. The rally was in support of "immigrants, people of color, religious minorities, people with disabilities, survivors of sexual assault, and sexual minorities," according to the group's Facebook page. The rally was a peaceful gathering that included signs, songs, hand-holding and marching through Tattnall Square park. Students from several universities and colleges in the area came out to show support as well as members of the community. The rally comes after the recent election of Donald Trump.
