Kathleen Quinlan

Kathleen is a Mercer University senior who is double majoring in Journalism and English. She is the Cluster's News Editor and she is also has a featured entertainment column titled "Listen Up, Nerds!" that has won a Georgia Press Association award. Journalism has been a lifelong passion for Kathleen and she thanks Peter Parker, Lois Lane and Clark Kent for that inspiration. She is journalism's very own combination of Liz Lemon/Leslie Knope. Kathleen has red hair, enjoys cupcakes and frequently uses her Netflix account.

Carl V. Lewis

Carl V. Lewis is a senior journalism and southern studies major at Mercer and the acting web editor for The Cluster. During his time in college, he has worked as an on-call reporter for The Telegraph newspaper in Macon, Ga. and sat as news editor for The Oxford Student during his time abroad. His journalism has appeared in The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Augusta Chronicle and The Daily Mail. He plans to begin graduate school in journalism this fall with an emphasis on digital media. Brittani Howell is a sophomore Service Scholar and English major from Hiram, Ga. She has been writing for the Cluster since her freshman year and picked up the position of copy editor in the fall of 2010. Next semester she will be studying abroad at Oxford, studying her favorite subjects and exploring Europe in every spare moment. When she isn't editing Cluster articles (which isn't very often), she likes to read, travel, go on adventures, hang out with her friends and attend the ballroom dance club.

Kayleigh is a senior majoring in journalism and minoring in photography. She is the business/advertising manager for The Cluster and writes her column, Ask the Esthetician. She has interned for New York Life, developed a fundraising event for Middle GA Crisis Line & Safe House and is currently interning with The Cherry Blossom Festival. After graduation she plans to participate in the Semester in Washington Journalism Program at George Washington University. She hopes to make her mark on the world through public relations.

Elizabeth is the Co-Editor in Chief of The Cluster and a junior studying journalism and political science from Rome, Ga. She has been working for The Cluster since her freshman year and worked for her high school newspaper. She is participating in the George Washington University Summer in Journalism program this summer, where she will work at an internship in the city. Liz aspires to be a political journalist with a focus on international relations.

Eric Brown is The Cluster's entertainment editor, and has been working with the paper his entire college career. He is the winner of the Georgia College Press Association's award for best entertainment story in 2011. He reads too many comics books, watches too much television, and is generally considered a bad influence on today's youth.

Gene Mitchell is a junior originally from Fitzgerald, GA. Gene previously served in the United States Marine Corps prior to coming to Mercer. His background in the military, working with the international diplomacy, and studies in political science all give Gene a unique perspective in his writing. Gene also enjoys service with Mercer Service Scholars and various sports ranging from football, wrestling, and martial arts.
